Di Michels

Born in Auckland, New Zealand

Lives & works in Waitahanui, New Zealand

Drawing and painting has been some thing I have done all my life. After leaving school I trained as a graphic designer and still do a few odd jobs as a freelance artist, although after moving from Auckland to Waitahanui a couple of years ago, that has become less as I have moved back to creating more artworks for pleasure. Some of those you see here.

My passion is the birds and animals native to New Zealand. I am an active member of Project Tongariro who promote restoration and protection of the central North Island area and am often out clearing predator traps and tree planting. Some of the income from my artistic creations goes back to this organisation to support the numerous projects in the area I call home.

Please enjoy the images. Some of these paintings are available for purchase and I can also do commissions.

Previous Exhibitions

I am not an artist with a gallery as such, nor am I frequently exhibiting but I have had a couple of times when my works have been on display. Both times reactions and sales have been positive.
